Monday Inspiration

Monday, September 29, 2014

I love the mornings, at least the portion of the morning before the sun comes up. It's so quiet in a house that is otherwise bustling with life. And by life, I mean cartoons, giggles... Fighting..haha. As a mom, life with boys is a true blessing but also a challenge on some days. For some, it may be crazy to wake up at 5:30am to simply read, enjoy my coffee, and pray. However, this little time in the morning truly sets the tone for the rest of my day. As another Monday rolls around I'm reminded that even though getting up and spending my mornings with God are important there are other ways that I can honor and please God, and that is by simply living out the gifts that God has given me. The gifts and talents that God has given to us, they are blessings and when we use them we are pleasing God. That's easy enough right?! David  (Yes, from David and Goliath) praised God by tending to his sheep, leading a nation and loving his children. He did what he did best and God was honored by that. Of course, most of us don't have sheep to tend to, but we do have our families. We have jobs and talents to sing, draw, cook, create...  all of those things are blessings from God and can be used to give God glroy. As women it's tough to find the balance and to create that little bit of quiet time each day, but today I wanted to remind you it's not an all or nothing. Today I encourage you to praise God in your way, with your gifts, even if that's making PB and J sandwiches and loving on your babies. We have all been blessed and when we are aware that those are blessings from God and treat them accordingly, we honor God and please Him.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving. Let us shoult joyfully to Him with pslams. For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods.
Psalm 95:1-3
